A Word To Our Praying Friends

It is just after 4:30 a.m. as I write these words. No, I have not become one of those ridiculously early risers! My body clock is still on Australia time and the adjustment period is real. In spite of all of this I have known the Lord’s strength and help since returning. We had a wonderful camp in Louisiana and I am currently in a revival meeting in Bristol, VA. It is yet another reminder to me that God is always fresh and always faithful.  During my college years there was a sweet elderly man, a veteran missionary back from the field, who used to constantly refer to a missionary’s “praying friends.” His expression has taken on new meaning for…

30 Years Ago Tonight

Thirty years ago tonight I surrendered my life to Christ to preach His Word. Thirty years. A few days later, as a twelve-year-old boy, I stood in a cottage prayer meeting and preached my first Bible message. What an adventure it has been serving the Lord! Thousands of times I have had the joy of opening God’s Word and sharing His truth. God willing, tomorrow I will stand and preach the Bible again. I am still amazed that I get to do this with my life.  In an age of novelty and clever ideas I have no desire for something new. I am wary of the new, hungry for the freshtouch of God, and content with eternaltruth. The world doesn’t need better ideas;…

Obedient Children

Every father and mother knows that one of the greatest joys in life is seeing your children obey – immediately, cheerfully, and when they don’t even know that you are watching. Our Heavenly Father is no different, except for the fact that He is always watching. Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ; As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance: But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.…

“Living My Truth”

Scott Pauley

The highlight story in a major magazine carried this title: “Living My Truth.” It was the story of a transgender airline pilot who proudly boasted that he was now living his own truth. My heart broke as I read the words of a man who had believed a lie but had convinced himself that he was living in truth. This is a mark of an apostate age – people have turned from revealed truth (Romans 1:18-25; Jude 4-10). When sin comes out blatantly and boldly it is not an expression of truth, it is evidence of rebellion. The fear of God is gone. There is no such thing as “my truth” or “your truth.” There is only truth, and all…

Starting Today!

Over the last few weeks I have been meeting people everywhere who are “Enjoying The Journey” with us through the Word of God. If you have been listening, thank you! If you have not yet joined us, today would be a good day! Starting today we are studying specific Scriptures that will help us know how to witness more effectively for Christ. This new series, Go With The Gospel, is now available on all of the podcast platforms and on our own website. My burden is to enlist and equip as many Christians as possible to share Christ with others. I hope you will be one of those people. This particular series also has printed material available if you would…

The Need Of Our Nation

It is easy to fuss at the darkness around us and fail to do the very things that bring true light into our dark world. Political conservatism and true Christianity are not the same thing. As followers of Christ our hope is in God and our help comes only from Him. This week we celebrate the birthday of our beloved America. I love my country and long to see a spiritual revival in our land. It is the hope of our nation and the need of every generation. Would you join me in making this week a week of prayer? Every celebration should be cause for us to remember the goodness of God and look to Him again. As you…
