Enjoying the Journey

At every stage on the journey we face crossroads – choices that will have long-lasting effects on both ourselves and others. Direction determines destination. There is never a day that we do not need God’s wisdom and never a season of life that we can afford to make decisions on our own.

Week after week I meet people in every place where I travel who are trying to find the Lord’s will. What should I do? Who should I marry? Where should I go to college? How should I deal with this problem? When will the time be right to make a move?

Perhaps the greater question, the question that helps to answer all of the others, is: How do I find God’s mind on my situation?

To find God’s will is the first step in following it. From experience I know that one of the greatest struggles of sincere Christians is to discern what is the Lord and what is not.

This Monday we begin a brand new 6 week podcast series on Enjoying The Journey. I am praying that the Lord will use it to help many people who are seeking God’s direction for some decision. Our study will be in two parts:

  • Which Way Do I Go?

The first three weeks we will examine the Scriptures for Bible principles that must be followed as we pursue the will of God. From examples in both the Old and New Testaments the Holy Spirit plainly gives us a pattern to follow. No one can tell you all the will of God for your life but the Bible will tell you how to find it!

  • Psalms For The Traveler

The second half of our study will walk us through the Psalms that are commonly known as “the pilgrim psalms.” These psalms progressively show us how to enter into the presence of God. In His presence everything becomes much clearer. Every step, every stage brings us closer to His purpose.

Regardless of who you are or where you are on the journey of life, we all need direction and encouragement along the way. I would like to invite you to join us for the next six weeks, Monday – Friday, for this ten minute daily broadcast. You may subscribe to the podcast or listen online at scottpauley.org/broadcast.

Let’s make this our prayer…

Teach me thy way, O LORD, and lead me in a plain path, because of mine enemies” (Psalm 27:11).
