Endings And Beginnings – Our September Schedule

By Scott Pauley | August 31, 2019 | 2 Comments

It is amazing how quickly the summer season goes. Our kids are now back in school and hints of fall are in the air. As students return to their classrooms, we must all remember what God has taught us this summer. For many, the start of school is the restart of regular schedules and routines. Every day that schedule should include time with God, but we must guard that those times never become merely routine! September is a busy month of revival meetings. More than anything, our nation needs a fresh stirring of God’s Spirit. I often feel like the prophet Jeremiah, who lamented: “The harvest is past, the summer is ended, and we are not saved” (Jeremiah 8:20). Pray with…

On “Christian Celebrities” Renouncing Christ

By Scott Pauley | August 29, 2019 | 10 Comments

A number of “Christian” celebrities have recently renounced their faith and begun to actively question the reality of God. Many are shocked and some are confused. What should we make of all this? This is not new. Judas was fairly well known and respected but he too renounced Christ. This is Satan’s work and just evidence of enemy movements. It really doesn’t matter who the person is. Remember how Judas’ story ends. The fact that a person is well known does not mean he knows the Lord at all. Only God knows the heart, but it is possible for people to be so consumed with the complexity of themselves that they miss the simplicity of Christ. The only star in…

Guest Post: Fall On Your Face Before You Fall On Your Face

By Scott Pauley | August 26, 2019 | 2 Comments

Dan Knickerbocker is a happy Christian, a dear friend, and an encourager to God’s people. He is being used of the Lord in evangelism all over the country and is constantly emphasizing the need for fervent prayer in our churches. I am honored to post this article and pray that God will use it to stir us all to seek the Lord. -SP “…then began men to call upon the name of the Lord.”– Genesis 4:26b. “And Enoch walked with God – Genesis 5:22. “And the Lord said, My spirit shall not always strive with men..” – Genesis 6:3. Some fall on their face before God because they love Him, many because of a crisis, and others to know God’s will. Think of…

Attn: Preacher’s & Preacher’s Wives!

By Scott Pauley | August 21, 2019 | 0 Comments

“And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not” (Galatians 6:9). Weariness is common among workers. You cannot always put your finger on it – it may be physical, mental, emotional, spiritual – maybe a combination of different factors. Sometimes we must press through and work through the weary season. But sometimes it is best to come apart and rest awhile (Mark 6:31). We are just days away from The Preacher’s Rest and I want to encourage preachers and their wives to join us in Hickory, NC for this special time of refreshing. (Watch last year’s highlight video.) This year we will examine what is essential for ministers to keep…
