An Opportunity to Invest in the Gospel

Not all investments are good ones! Investing in the gospel is always a wise investment. Today I am traveling to preach the Word of God. Continually I am reminded that many people who I will not see (some who I do not even know) are investing in the work God has called us to do through their prayers and support. How wonderful to labor together in the gospel!

We are all called to participate in the work of Christ. It is every believer’s privilege to invest in the salvation of souls and the glory of God. There are specific things that we may give:

  1. We are to give the truth. People are only born again through the life-giving power of the Word of God (1 Peter 1:23). As we share the Scriptures the Holy Spirit uses the truth to turn sinners to Christ.
  2. We are to give our time. A man’s priorities are revealed by what he gives his energy to. If heaven and hell are real it should affect what we do in this life. We spend a good portion of each week doing our work. Surely there should be some time set aside for the Lord’s work. Make time regularly to pray for souls and work to reach them.
  3. We are to give our testimony. The most powerful tool you have in the advancement of the gospel is the story of how Christ has changed your life! It is not enough to have a testimony – we must give it.
  4. We are to give our treasure. It is my conviction that every believer should give beyond their tithe in the work of world evangelism. Tammy and I decided years ago to give through our local church to missions. Our resources can often go where we cannot.

The Lord has used kind friends and local churches to have a part in the gospel work God has called us to do. We are encouraged by the prayerful support of the Lord’s people.

Many have asked if we would provide an easy way to donate online. That is now possible through a new, secure link at scottpauley.org/donate. Our desire is to continue producing a daily podcast along with  developing additional resources. Gifts will be used specifically for these purposes along with other gospel and revival projects.

All gifts are tax-deductible and will be overseen by our sending church. Thank you for having a part in the work of the gospel. Our heart is best expressed by the words of another evangelist in my favorite book of the Bible:

Not because I desire a gift: but I desire fruit that may abound to your account. But I have all, and abound: I am full, having received of Epaphroditus the things which were sent from you, an odour of a sweet smell, a sacrifice acceptable, wellpleasing to God. But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. Now unto God and our Father be glory for ever and ever. Amen. (Philippians 4:17-20)

As a boy I was taught that you can’t take your resources with you, but you can send them on ahead! By investing in the only thing that is going there – souls. I want to make the most of God given opportunities. Let’s all determine to make a wise investment today for eternity.
