Enjoying the Journey
The life and ministry of D.L. Moody has always been a great challenge to me. This humble servant of God knew the power of the Holy Spirit and was used to shake two continents with the gospel. Perhaps his greatest work was in enlisting others to work for Christ. The Lord used Moody to set so much in motion for eternity.
I would like for you to travel with me this summer to the home and headquarters of this faithful preacher. On Friday, July 5, 2019 we will conduct a special heritage tour of D.L. Moody’s Life and Ministry. Our Journey with Moody will begin at his birthplace, continue through his ministry at Northfield, Massachusetts and Mt. Hermon, stop off at the great Moody auditorium where he conducted his summer Bible conferences, and conclude with a visit to the place where he died and Round-Top where he is buried.
My dear friend, Bob Crichton, has made a lifetime study of Moody and will be sharing tremendous insights from his example. It was in Mt. Hermon that the Student Volunteer Movement was begun. God used that work to circle the globe with the gospel in their generation. We will have a special prayer meeting at this place, asking the Lord to do it again in our day. This is more than a journey through the past – it is a prayer for God to send a fresh stirring in our generation!
I am excited about this special walk through history and would love to have you make the journey with us. We will study God’s Word throughout the day and enjoy good fellowship together. D.L. Moody’s grandson will be our special guest and will give a personal word to the group. This will be a very special time.
Two registration options are available:
- Option 1: All day tour, catered lunch and catered dinner on Friday, one night’s lodging at Northfield: $100 per person
- Option 2: All day tour, catered lunch and catered dinner on Friday: $50 per person
Additional Saturday stops are being planned for those who would like to make a weekend of it. There will be no additional cost for the Saturday tour. Also, lodging for additional nights is available upon request. I will be preaching in Connecticut on that Lord’s day and we would be thrilled for you to join us for those meetings as well.
The trip is open to anyone. If you love our Christian heritage and have a hunger to see the Lord work in our day, this is for you! For more information on this “Enjoying The Journey” tour please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
