Enjoying the Journey

We all know that this year has been particularly challenging. Clouds of doubt and a fog of uncertainty have come into a world that was already dark with sin. It is at this time, more than ever, that we must remember our “God is light, and in him is no darkness at all” (1 John 1:5). He alone can bring light in the midst of dark days!

The brightest days are dark outside of His presence, and the darkest days are light when He is near.

When the pandemic halted much of our travel back in the spring I had the privilege of preaching a series of messages to our home church. These four Bible messages came from the book of Ruth and provide “Light for Dark Days.” At the time they were given none of us could have imagined what the rest of 2020 would hold, but I am glad to say that the eternal truth of God has not changed at all! The darker the night the brighter the light.

Now, six months later, we have decided to post these messages on our Youtube channel with the prayer that God will use them to encourage you to keep your eyes on the Lord who is greater than every circumstance.

I hope you will get your Bible and spend some time in the little book of Ruth. God will meet you there. Today we share the first message in this short series:

What Will You Do In The Famine?”

Each Saturday over the next few weeks we will post another sermon. Look for these messages:

How the Story Ends

At the end of our study I want to pass along something special for children from the book of Ruth. This truly is a portion of Scripture that will encourage the entire family. Subscribe to the channel and share it with others. There are many people who are discouraged at this time and I pray the Lord will use these truths to bring light in dark days.
