Enjoying the Journey
This generation needs the good news of Jesus Christ! Young people are growing up in a world of violence and hate. Only the love of God can make the difference.
In the past months we have seen repeated shootings on school campuses. Students are hurting. Families are afraid.
Bullying is on the rise. Kids are angry. Even some good kids have started carrying weapons. Darkness and depression have crept over campuses across our nation.
What is the answer?
The problem is not guns; so the solution cannot be laws. The issue is spiritual and only a heart remedy can meet that need. People need the help and hope found only in Christ.
I have been encouraged to see many effectively reaching out to students in recent days. The Teens for Christ ministry held a great rally recently in Knoxville, TN. (Watch the video here.) Believers in many places have a burden to do something!
On Sunday, May 13 we have an amazing opportunity in West Virginia. Raleigh County has asked us to host a county-wide Baccalaureate Service in honor of the hundreds of 2018 graduates. The meeting will be held at the Woodrow Wilson High School Auditorium at 6:00 p.m.
This is an open door for the gospel! On that night we will recognize seniors, honor families and educators, and seek to point every one to the only hope in this life and the one to come – the Lord Jesus Christ.
I am looking forward to speaking at this special gathering. A host of people are working hard to bring people together. Some local churches are even moving their Sunday evening service in support of the event.
Would you have a part in this gospel project?
- Please pray that the Lord will be honored and many will be helped by the Word of God that night.
- Consider giving a tax-deductible gift. This is a costly endeavor but well worth the eternal investment. We need to raise several thousand dollars. Anything you give will be used to help us reach people for the Lord. You may give securely online at scottpauley.org/invest or mail your gift to 201 Cranberry Drive, Beckley, WV, 25801.
- Tell others. If you are in Raleigh County and know of a senior we would love to invite them! You may email us at email@example.com.
- Come help us that night. We want to partner with local pastors, youth workers, educators, parents, and students who are concerned about our schools and reaching this generation. Call us at 304.252.9631 to find out how you can be involved.
For more information on this event go to WVgrads.com. It would be a great encouragement to us to hear from you. If you are not in this area I hope you will ask God to show you what you can do where you are to minister on school campuses near you.
Our generation needs Jesus.
