5 Books To Read For Fun
Reading is not just for information! It can be a healthy habit and constructive distraction for busy people. While I spend much of my reading time in research and study I have learned that keeping some “light” reading nearby is good for me. My favorite books for pleasure reading are usually biographies or something on Presidential history. Here are a few books that I have been reading just for fun during my down times… Killing Lincoln by Bill O’Reilly (I have always enjoyed reading about Lincoln and that era of American history. This book is extremely interesting and I think the best of O’Reilly’s series.) Unbroken by Laura Hildebrand (This is a powerful book! Hildebrand records the dramatic story of…

I was baptized as a five-year old boy. I chose to be baptized to show that I had recently trusted Christ as my personal Savior. Now, in fact, I simply chose what Jesus had already chosen for me. 2,000 years ago He told His disciples that those who believed on Him should be baptized (Mark 16:16). He was friendly enough but not really interested in talking about spiritual things. To my right was an Asian woman, headed to a funeral, and intensely interested in discussing Christ. They could not have…
Read MoreWhat’s Your Story?
Everybody has one. A story that is. My story is not yours and yours is not mine. The details vary – except for one thing. God is the Author. If you have a story to tell it is really just the story of what the Lord has done for you. Most often we refer to it as our “testimony.” It is the testimony of how God brought us to Himself and what He is doing with us now. You see a good testimony is always present tense. It is not merely the record of an event. It is the heart’s expression of praise and love for Jesus Christ. Pastor Sexton has taught us for years that your personal testimony is…
