The King Is Coming!
What are you expecting to happen next in our world? Every day brings new challenges and changing circumstances. I cannot tell you what the government will do, how the economy will respond, or when the pandemic will end. But what I do know is what the Bible tells us – The King Is Coming! God’s people should not be looking down, they should be looking up. Our future is not disaster but deliverance, and we are watching for the coming of our Christ, not the antichrist! Any moment the Lord Jesus is coming for His own. The last book of the Bible tells us the story of both the end of this world and the beginning of eternity with our…

Everyone has their favorite media platform to stream content – there are certainly plenty to choose from! Our daily broadcast is heard on a number of radio stations across the country, internet radio, and a variety of podcast platforms. Over the last year we have also been able to add Enjoying the Journey to Pandora, TuneIn, iHeart Radio, Spotify, and Stitcher. The Next Step in 2021 During the Christmas and New Year season we decided to share some archived episodes on our YouTube channel and soon discovered that some people enjoy listening there as well. One benefit of this platform is that you can easily share the episodes to other devices in your home (such as a smart tv). Also,…
Read MoreJanuary Meetings & A Word About Our Website
Tomorrow we begin the first meetings of a brand new year. We are grateful to God for allowing us to give the last five years to the work of evangelism and look forward to all God has for us in the days ahead. Thank you for keeping up with us and going with us through prayer. We wanted to give our friends a first glance at something we have been working on for some time… New Ministry Website Later this month we will launch a new ministry website, EnjoyingTheJourney.org. The new site will continue to provide what is currently available at scottpauley.org, but with much more content and a search engine that we believe will be helpful to anyone studying…
Read More12 Days of Christmas!
Go ahead and sing it – you know the words! We have always had a lot of fun singing and acting out the old Christmas classic The Twelve Days of Christmas. This English Christmas Carol was based on the twelve days of Christmas celebration that actually began on December 25 and ended on January 5. While the lyrics have changed some through the years and there is debate over the exact meaning of each line, one thought permeates the song: each day and each gift is a reminder that someone truly loves you. Did you know that Christmas is only 12 days from today? What a wonderful thing it would be if over the next twelve days we meditated each…

It is always an encouragement to hear from friends who are studying God’s Word with us each day on Enjoying the Journey. I just received a very kind email question from a man who listens to the daily broadcast. His question prompted me to go back and review one of last week’s episodes on the name of God. On Friday we looked at the Hebrew name El Olam which is introduced to us in the story of Abraham and Abimelech. Our study concentrated on the beginning of that story in Genesis 20:13. During the broadcast I stated that the name for God that Abraham used was El Olam – “the everlasting God.” While that is true, he did not use…
Read MoreTHE NAME
There is no name like the name of our great God! The apostles said of the name of Jesus, “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved” (Acts 4:12). We are told in Philippians 2:9, “Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name.” I say again: There is no name like THE NAME! The varied names and titles of God found throughout Scripture are full of meaning. They are more than identification – they are a revelation of the very character of our Lord. The name of God is connected to the nature of God. As…
Read MoreThankful In Difficult Days
God’s people are commanded to give thanks at all times and in all circumstances – not when we feel like it. Praise is a choice and gratitude is a discipline. Thanks doesn’t begin in the emotion, it begins in the will. Will we obey? “Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ” (Ephesians 5:20). “In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you” (1 Thessalonians 5:18). Every good fruit grows in the garden of gratitude. When we give God thanks the Lord works in every direction… Only God gets the glory. Praise is a humbling thing, a recognition that we are…

There is a great deal of discussion now about peace around the world. At the same time, there is increased strife and fighting in our own country. But the biggest war in the world is being waged and few are talking about it. You will not find it in the news or trending on social media, but it is very real. It is a battle between light and darkness and it is intensifying at this moment. It is not a political, military, social, economic, philosophical, racial, or social conflict. It is spiritual. The enemy is angry and the conflict is as fierce as it has ever been. Satan knows his time is short and our Captain has promised us the…
Read MoreDear Church Member…
What if you received a letter from the Founder of the church? In fact, you have it in your hands each time you hold the Word of God! The Lord has written in black and white exactly what He designed and desires for His church to be. The New Testament is the divine manual on the local assembly. In our day the church is being minimized and marginalized by society. Satan and his minions are on the attack. Many Christians have taken a passive, take-it-or-leave-it approach. This is not the time for believers to take a step back from church! We live on the edge of eternity and now is the time for every church member to find their place…
