All Christians have a dual citizenship. We are temporary, earthly citizens of the nation where God has providentially allowed us to live and we are eternal, heavenly citizens of a much better country! In the words of the old song, “This world is not my home, I’m just passing through.” The Lord’s people ought to be the most caring, principled, and helpful citizens of their present nation, but they must also remember that they are only pilgrims on their way home (Hebrews 11:13-16). Christians, the Constitution, and Our Country

A few days ago I put a copy of the United States Constitution in my briefcase as I left for a trip. On board a flight I determined to read it through at one sitting, slowly and thoughtfully.  As a Christian I am a citizen of Heaven (Philippians 3:20). Politics, Local Government, and Good Candidates

Two months from today is primary election day in West Virginia. While I do not believe that politics is the answer for our nation, I am convinced that believers should not retreat from our political system. God’s people must do their part to be “salt and light” in the world. Christians should be the best citizens. Those who love truth should be most engaged in the public arena.
