Enjoying the Journey

Thanks for Your Patience!

A little over a month ago we sold out of the hardback edition of Revival Praying. I am truly grateful to God for the reception the book has received in the first few months since its release. All over the country there are groups of believers studying these prayer principles from Ezra 9 and seeking the Lord. Just yesterday I had the joy of giving a brief greeting online to a group of people who are studying through the material together virtually. Because of a large influx of orders and some delay from the printer we have been unable to get the books out as quickly as we would like. I want to thank you for your patience. Faithworks Media…

What We Really Need

We are one month into the new year! How are your resolutions holding up? I am not a critic of resolutions; they have very often marked turning points in my own life. (More on that here.) But I am convinced that fresh resolve will never be enough for the change that is needed in our lives and in our nation. Just before the new year our daughter Morgan said to me and her mother one night, “I have been thinking that what we really need in the new year is not resolutions but revival.” (She would be the preacher in the family if she believed in women preachers!) Over the last few days I have been meditating on what she…

New Audio Book Released

I had to laugh as I thought of how we all spoke of 2020 as the year to emphasize vision, only to discover that this year would bring so many things we could never have envisioned! What a blessing to remember that God sees much better than we do. He sees the end from the beginning and my only assignment is to keep my eye on Him. It would have been impossible to know how God would guide in the writing of Revival Praying and superintend the distribution of it throughout the last six months, but I am truly grateful. The publisher has just informed me that they have sold out of the first edition and have just sent this…

A Gift for Giving Tuesday

Yesterday was the day that Americans spent all of their money online and today is the day they are encouraged to give whatever they have left over to worthy causes! All joking aside, I think Giving Tuesday is a good thing. God’s people are taught the principles of giving throughout the Word of God and, for believers, they are in effect every day. It has always been my conviction that no charitable giving should take away from the tithe and offering that believers should give through their local churches. The work of the Lord through your church needs your faithful involvement more now than ever. As I have read the life and ministry of D.L. Moody it has been encouraging…

Exciting News to Share

One of the great joys of serving the Lord is watching Him work in ways we could never have planned. Yes, we are “laborers together with God” and He has graciously allowed us to be participants, partners in His mission. But, in the end, all of us recognize that we are just along for the ride. He is doing the work and we are witnesses of it. Recently I told someone that it has been thrilling to see that the most blessed things I have been privileged to be part of were those things that were not my idea at all! God has a way of doing the unexpected and producing the unexplainable. Only He gets the glory. This is…

I Would Appreciate Your Help!

One of the great joys of my life is the fellowship and friendship we enjoy with the people of God. There is nothing like being in the greatest family on earth! I am very grateful for the connections the Lord continues to give us with His people around the world and the partnership we have in the work of the gospel. I want to ask if you would be willing to help me with a special project that God has given us. As most of you know, during the COVID-19 travel ban we were restricted from a number of scheduled meetings. Yet in the good providence of God it was during that time that the Lord allowed me to write…

Would You Join Me This Morning?

This has been an exciting week with the release of Revival Praying on Monday. We have been encouraged by the initial reception to the book and especially the response of many who are seeking the Lord for a spiritual awakening in our day. If you have not yet downloaded your free digital copy or preordered the hardback book you may do so here. At 10:00 this morning my friend Byron Foxx is hosting a webinar to discuss the new book. I look forward to sharing some of the things God has been teaching me during the writing of Revival Praying. Space is limited and it would be an honor if you could join us for a few moments. Please register…

Today Is The Day!

I am not discouraged. Yes, I have watched the news in recent days and have been saddened by the state of affairs in our nation. But God’s people should not be in despair! At the darkest moments in history the Lord has brought the greatest spiritual breakthroughs. We may very well be standing on the verge of a revival in our generation. People are desperate. Hearts are hurting. The best plans and ideas have failed. And that is exactly where we have to come to if we expect to see God at work. The end of us is the beginning of Him. God’s army can only advance on its knees, and this is the time for sincere believers to get…
